In December of 1986, Donna Coussment had a vision for a fabulous neighborhood pub with great food, focused customer service and an atmosphere to never forget! The restaurant started with an apartment size stove and a tiny refrigerator in a kitchen that was roughly 5 ft x 8 ft.

As family members describe, “the food just took off!”

Kozy’s quickly became Tuscaloosa’s hidden gem for a great night out.

The original menu consisted of beef stroganoff, spaghetti, and steak. As popularity grew, the menu evolved and so did the building. The kitchen and back room were added on to accommodate. Coussment loves old movies so she personally framed every picture in the restaurant to create the romantic hollywood surrounding.

 

Kozy's is current leadership staff constists of:

 

Tim Killion - Owner/ General Manager.  With 25 years of restaurant experience and 12 of those in fine dining management, Killion is perfectly suited to position Kozy's as one of Tuscaloosa's premiere restaurants.

 

 Susan Walmsley - Co-Owner/ Front of the House Manager.  A Tuscaloosa native, Walmsley is the niece of the original owner, Donna Coussment. Walmsley and Killion worked together at another establishment in town and decided to partner together to open Kozy’s. She has over 5 years of fine dining experience. 

 

Beau Burroughs - Head Chef. Burroughs brings vast cuisine knowledge and skills to Kozy’s. Burroughs specializes in American Southern cuisine.
